Waters Shipping Company had it's beginning on February 6,1960 and is the oldest customs brokerage and freight forwarder corporation in North Carolina, with Customshouse Broker license number 3379 and FMC license number 70. The company was founded by 0. W. Waters, holder of Bureau of Customs Customhouse Broker License Number 2371 issued April 29,1949. Mr. Waters is still active in the day to day operation of the company. Waters Shipping Company continues as a third generation family owned business with Catherine W. Chafin as the current President, holder of U.S. Customs Service Customhouse Broker License Number 11990 issued in 1990. The corporation, with it's home office located in Wilmington, N. C. has a branch located in Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina. Waters Shipping Company is a certified U. S. Customs Automated Broker Interface (A.B.I.) participant for the prompt clearance and delivery of your cargo. We also attend customs clearances at the other Customs ports located within our permitted district of North Carolina and participate in the paired entry program. We can provide marine insurance through our Open Cargo Policy and will assist you any way to insure a prompt and satisfactory claim should there ever be the need. We can also assist with Customs single entry and continuous bonds covering your shipments.
